Tips and Tricks:Every Engineer should know

1)Absolute privacy on a computer

Flash a USB key with at least 8Gb with Ubuntu.

Downloading and flashing should take more than 10minutes, but this is really worth it.

Boot in BIOS mode, pressing as fast as you can ESC may work.

Change boot order so USB is the first, disable secure boot if windows 8 or more.

Put the USB key in.

Enjoy Linux. Other users will never know you booted from USB. If disk is not encrypted you can even read/write data. This is useful when windows is broken beyond repair, you can't trust the PC or want to recover files.

Ubuntu includes by default libre office, Mozilla and gparted, which is the best tool for managing file systems.

You can save files to the key when done

2)Watch movies online for free. For this you can use the following method:
- google the movies name. For example: "The Revenant"- scroll down to the pagination
- open the page 10, than 20th, than 30th, until you'll see this message: In response to multiple complaints we received under the US Digital Millennium Copyright Act, we have removed 3 results from this page. If you wish, you may read the DMCA complaints that caused the removals at Lumen:   Complaint,   Complaint,  Complaint."- click on any "Complaint" link
- Ctrl+F "revenant"
- find the line "Allegedly Infringing URLs" and choose any website that published the movie online

3) To create an invisible folder

·         Create a new folder

·         Rename it like this: Completely delete the name and then press Alt+255 and lo! you have a nameless folder.

·         select the invisible icon on the change icon tray. It is somewhere the white space is left. Scroll and you’ll soon find it.

·         Congratulations !!!

5) Useful keyboard shortcuts.

Open the task manager directly by pressing CTRL+SHIFT+ESC

Open the run command by pressing WIN+R

Lock windows by pressing WIN+L

Stack current window to the left half of the screen by pressing WIN+Left arrow key

Stack current window to the right half of the screen by pressing WIN+Right arrow key

open accidentally closed tab by pressing CTRL+SHIFT+T

Instead of deleting one letter at a time delete an entire word one at a time by pressing CTRL+BACKSPACE

Just Replace “youtube” with “ssyoutube” in the URL and paste it in your address bar to download the video in any quality available.

2.      Just Replace “youtube” with “nsfwyoutube” and paste it in your address bar to bypass age restriction.

3.      Just Replace “youtube” with “youtubeskip” in the URL and paste it in your address bar and you won’t see ads.

4.      Just Replace “youtube” with “listenonrepeat” in the URL and paste it in your address bar to repeat the video automatically .

5.      Just Replace “youtube” with “gifyoutube” in the URL and paste it in your address bar to convert video into gif format .
